Three things got my attention: the left-hand Solex’s throttle return spring had pulled free of its anchor, the oil pressure sender’s ring spade connector was hangin loose, and oil was pooled on the right-side engine tin.

A pair of mountains near La Veta, CO are called the Spanish Peaks. Native Americans called them Huajatolla, meaning Two Breasts or Breats of the Earth.

Once a stop on the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad, La Veta got its name from a nearby mineral deposit or vein.

It's now a sleepy town where artsy folk and ranchers mix.
